Our mission is to help you reach your communication potential by providing you with the expert knowledge, compassionate guidance, and individualized treatment to succeed.

Getting Started

Free Consultation

Our Speech Language-Pathologists (SLP) offer a complimentary phone consultation to learn more about you or your child’s needs.

Assessment

Arbutus Speech Therapy offers in-depth assessment including case history, standardized and non-standardized assessment, as well as naturalistic observation.

Treatment

Your Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will work collaboratively with you to help develop a personalized and meaningful treatment plan that makes sense for you or your child.

Articulation Speech Therapy

Articulation

As children are learning language, they are also learning how to pronounce the sounds of their language. It is expected that many children will say some speech sounds incorrectly, but it is important to know at what age these errors typically resolve. If you are concerned about your child’s speech and suspect they may require Speech Therapy, it’s a good idea to consult with a speech-language pathologist (SLP).

Autism Child

Autism / RASP

Our Speech Therapists (SLPs) in Vancouver work with children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a variety of communication skills including articulation, language, reading, and social communication skills. We are currently accepting new referrals for children with ASD. We have Speech Therapists available who are Registered Autism Service Providers (RASP.)

Accent Modification

Accent Modification

Accent modification is a Speech Therapy service for individuals who want to modify their accents to sound more similar to the local accent. The reasons someone might see a Speech Therapist (SLP) to change their accent ranges from personal to professional, but generally the goal is improving the ability to be understood by others.

Here are some of the most common questions people have when getting started. If you have any other questions, please reach out to [email protected], call 778-827-1043 or book your free consultation online.

Do you have a waitlist?

Most of the time we are able to start sessions within two weeks. Some of the factors that determine therapist availability include your location and availability to receive services. Get in touch with us and we will be glad to find a time that works. You can also book a free consultation with an SLP to discuss you or your child’s needs, including scheduling preferences.

Where will my or my child’s session take place?

Arbutus Speech Therapy is a community-based practice, which means we will provide sessions in your home, residence, daycare/school, community spot, or via online therapy (also known as teletherapy.) We will be able to discuss the different options with you to find the best setting to provide services.

How does billing work?

Arbutus Speech Therapy accepts all major credit cards. Your card will be securely held on file and billed after each session. There are also a number of funding options for speech therapy in BC. You can check out our Funding Guide to see if you might be eligible for funding. If you have any questions on funding, please don’t hesitate to contact us – we’re here to help.

How long is each session?

A typical session is 45 minutes long. We also offer 60 minute sessions, if desired, for some treatment types.

Do you utilize Speech Therapy Assistants?

No. All Arbutus Speech Therapy services are delivered by fully qualified, registered Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP).

Are you on the RASP (Registry of Autism Service Provider) list?

Yes. We have several speech therapist who are on the RASP and can provide services to your family.

The Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) is a list of professionals who have the experience and education to offer programs for children with autism. If your child is under six and you want to use autism funding to pay for services, you need to choose a service provider from the RASP.
